EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining)
Wire and spark EDM (also called electro erosion) is a non-mechanical operation for manufacturing metal parts that require a very high degree of accuracy, or that need operations which can’t be performed by turning or milling. For example: sharp internal angles, hubs, straight gearing, fines saw cuts, achieving high precision Ra values and high precision tolerances. EDM allows working on hardened metal an the process does not bring additional stress in the metal making it perfect as a last process to finish the part. Diametal offers both wire and spark EDM. For spark erosion we make our own electrodes.
